IOA and Hudson Global Scholars signed an agreement to Expand Awareness about the Origins and Philosophy of Olympism

March 31, 2025 – Athens, Greece – The International Olympic Academy (IOA) keeps expanding its Olympic educational programs and initiatives to youth internationally, this time by signing an exciting new agreement with Hudson Global Scholars® (HGS). This collaboration of the IOA with HGS will bring the philosophy of Olympism, make aware of the Olympic Origins and disseminate the Olympic Values to more than 700 partner schools and thousands of currently HGS’s enrolled students from over 25 countries, through a series of online seminars conducted by the IOA and live immersive educational experiences hosted at the IOA’s facilities in Ancient Olympia, Greece.
In a spirit of excellence, respect and friendship, this groundbreaking initiative, aims to provide HGS partner school administrators and teachers with the tools to inspire their students, fostering meaningful, interactive, and transformational educational experiences.
Hudson Global Scholars, based in Maryland, USA, is a leading provider of K–12 formal educational programs, offering fully accredited online and hybrid learning solutions. Elementary, junior and high school students, all over the world, have access to high quality education, wherever they live, and connect with peers worldwide through HGS’s network of prestigious partner schools and vibrant international student community.
To succeed in today’s world, students need to experience a values-based education, thus creating a solid foundation for the development of the 21st-century skills and competencies of critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity.
In response to this need, the IOA and HGS will work together to offer an innovative educational program, enhanced by sport and cultural activities, helping HGS students from all over the world to acquire the proper skills and competencies, while learning, discovering and being inspired by the philosophy of Olympism. Based on the signed agreement, the IOA and HGS will focus on equipping students with the inspiration and skills needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving global economy.
“The International Olympic Academy (IOA) is ready to support Hudson Global Scholars’ (HGS) initiative to engage its students with Olympic Values based educational activities and excited to extend its educational mission to over 700 partner schools of HGS worldwide,” said Dr. Makis Asimakopoulos, Director of the IOA. “The educational projects included in our agreement with HGS, advance two core objectives of the IOA: (a) to educate people about the Olympic Ideals and the Principles of the Olympic Movement, and (b) to inspire people to share and apply the knowledge and experiences gained from their visit to the IOA.”
“This partnership marks a significant milestone for Hudson Global Scholars and the global education community,” said Bruce Davis, CEO of Hudson Global Scholars. “Engaging students with the origins of the biggest sporting organization in the world, and its underlying philosophies of mind, body, and spirit, will enrich the development of any student or athlete. Immersive experiences at the IOA campus in Olympia will provide them with a unique foundation for personal and academic growth, and online programs will provide them with an internationally recognized, credit-bearing education.”
The strategic move of HGS to involve its students with the IOA Olympic Education programs and be inspired by the Values of Olympism reflects the shared vision of both organisations to create transformative educational experiences that inspire global citizenship, ethical leadership, and lifelong learning.
