We offer individual tutoring for all students in grades 1 – 12 enrolled in any of our following programs:

Tutoring Exclusively for Our Students

  • Tutoring is available for all courses in Grades 1 – 12
  • Sessions are conducted live via Zoom
  • Each tutoring session lasts one hour
  • Students complete an entry survey at the start to identify their tutoring needs
  • Tutoring services are available for purchase in bundles of five sessions
  • Sessions are used while the student is enrolled in the tutored course
  • Sessions are purchased, scheduled, and tracked through an online scheduling tool

What is Hudson Global Scholars’ tutoring service?

Our tutoring service provides ancillary support for HGS students who want additional personalized help with their studies. Tutoring sessions may be purchased in a bundle of five, one-hour tutoring sessions.

Who is eligible for HGS tutoring services?

HGS tutoring services are available to all students in grades 1 through 12 who are enrolled in any Hudson Global Scholars program, including Catholic Virtual (available Spring 2023) and Columbia School, Providence Country Day Global Campus, The Providence School, Calvert Preparatory School, and Franklin School (Available in mid-2023).

Who purchases HGS tutoring services?

Tutoring services are purchased directly by the parent/guardian or student.

How long are tutoring sessions, and can I purchase them individually?

Each tutoring session is one hour in duration. Tutoring is sold only in bundles of five, one-hour sessions. Individual one-hour tutoring sessions are not available.

For what grade levels is tutoring available?

Tutoring is available to students enrolled in grades 1-12 of a program supported by Hudson Global Scholars (see “Who is eligible for HGS tutoring services?” for additional information).

For what subjects is tutoring available?

Tutoring is available for Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and English.

Do all five tutoring sessions need to be scheduled for the same course/subject?

No, you may select one session at a time. Please remember the bundle’s expiration date (130 days from original purchase).

Do all five tutoring sessions need to be scheduled with the same tutor?

You may choose from a pool of available tutors. You may select the same tutor for all 5 sessions or select alternate tutors for the remaining sessions.

Who are the tutors?

Tutors are qualified Hudson Global Scholars instructors who are not the student’s teacher for the course in which the student is enrolled. When selecting a tutor, please ensure you are not selecting a current instructor, or the tutoring session will need to be rescheduled.

How is a tutoring session scheduled?

Parents schedule each one-hour-long tutoring session through a self-guided, online portal.

How is the tutoring session conducted?

Tutoring is conducted online, live, between the tutor and an individual student. The student will be provided with a link upon selecting a day and time for the tutoring session. A device and internet are required. The student should be logged in to the course for which they are being tutored prior to joining the tutoring session.

Are tutoring sessions recorded?

Each session is recorded. Recorded sessions may be requested by the student at the end of the tutoring session.

Does the tutoring bundle have an expiration date?

Tutoring sessions expire 130 days from the date on which the tutoring bundle was purchased.

What is the cost of a tutoring bundle?

Tutoring services may be purchased for $250 USD each five-hour bundle. Additional bundles may be purchased at the price of $250 USD.

What happens if the student is late to a tutoring session?

The tutor will keep the tutoring session Zoom room open until 20 minutes past the scheduled start time. After 20 minutes, if the student has failed to join the Zoom room, the tutoring session will be closed out and the session will be considered a no show and the session will be forfeited with no credit allowed.

What happens if the tutor does not open the Zoom room for the tutoring session?

How do I cancel or reschedule a tutoring session?

Parent/guardian must use the SquareSpace scheduling app or reminder email link to cancel or reschedule the tutoring session prior to 24 business hours of the appointment. The session cannot be rescheduled or cancelled with the tutor, via email or by contacting Help Desk.

What is the tutoring session cancellation policy?

The client (guardian or student over 18 years of age) must reschedule or cancel a booked tutoring session within 24 business hours of the booked tutoring session through the SquareSpace scheduling application to be eligible for credit toward a rebooked tutoring session within the 130-calendar day time limit of the purchase of the tutoring bundle. No-shows or cancellations attempted after the required 24 business hour cancellation policy will not receive credit toward another booked scheduling session and will be forfeited.

Is there a refund policy?

There are no refunds once a tutoring session bundle is purchased. Clients may reschedule or cancel a booked tutoring session within 24 business hours prior to the scheduled booked tutoring session.
